Prague Studios officially opens with a commitment to revolutionize modern production spaces — both in the filmmaking experience, and final product. Our launch helps create a shift in the landscape, where the stunning city of Prague becomes a top destination for global filmmakers.

Only a few years after opening, we still wanted to deliver more and show the world what was possible. By adding larger sound stages, we were well-positioned to support multiple international projects at a time — all while revealing specialized facilities for visual effects, set construction, and high-demand services.

In 2005, we did a complete upgrade of our facilities to include state-of-the-art special effects stages and stunt stages. With advanced rigging, lighting, and mechanical capabilities, we could offer things that had never been seen before for fast-paced action and mega-scale franchises.

Just a few years later, we decided that water tanks would soon become a must — not just a nice-to-have — and we got to work. Today, our flexible-to-use and highly-controlled water effect environment remains one of the largest across all of Europe.

After years of staying ahead of the trends, we predicted another global boom for international productions. To ensure our partners always felt supported, we proactively added two state-of-the-art soundstages, delivering even more flexibility and choice.

After our largest expansion, we became one of Europe’s premier studios to offer cutting-edge virtual production capabilities. With Globe Virtual Productions, LED volume stages, and fully-enabled tech capacity, our leading experts can create immersive virtual environments for real-time production.

In 2025, Prague Studios will open the doors to the Hive™, with 4 new studio stages, and a hub of long-term rental spaces designed to foster collaboration across production businesses. By integrating advanced technology, Hive is set to become the new European landmark for VFX, Creative, Animation, Equipment Rentals, and more.
